I''ve had my .450 marlin for 8 months and I have no regreats. Out of the box I was shooting .75 3 round group time and time again. Recently I took it hog hunting and I killed 4 large hogs. The most amazing thing about the .450 marlin is the exit hole it makes. I live were hogs aren''t wanted so saying this doesn''t bother me a bit: It made exit holes as big as my baseball cap. All the hogs dropped in their tracks. The gun is reasonably priced and the ammo isn''t all that expensive considering what it does. I have .30.30''s, .2-20 swift,.25-06, .223''s, .338''s, .22 &.22 magnum and I choose the .450 marlin. I likes.

I JUST PURCHASED A MARLIN 917-VSF 17. HMR.THIS IS THE BEST SHOOTING RIMFIRE RIFLE I HAVE SHOT TO DATE.I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER BRANDS OF RIMFIRES BUT NON COMES CLOSE TO THE ACCURACY OF THIS ONE.IVE SHOT WINCHESTER,HORNADY,AND CCI AMMO THRU IT AND THIS GUN SHOWED NO PREFERENCE TO ANY TESTED. ALL 4 SHOT GROUPS WERE UNDER 1/2 INCH AT 100 YARDS.GOING FROM 17 GRAIN BULLETS TO 20 GRAIN BULLETS SEEMED TO STABILIZE THE SHOT IN THE WIND. 5MPH CROSSWINDS MOVED THE IMPACT ABOUT 1 INCH.THIS IS ONE FINE RIFLE.
